Mission & Vision

b_909_298_16777215_00_images_slideshow_slide_1.jpg  OUR VISION

Our vision is to achieve access to medical care for all Cambodian women - regardless of status or wealth.  No one will be turned away but those who can will be required to pay an appropriate fee.

The construction of the Nokor Tep Women's Hospital is the core of our vision.

According to the World Bank, the health status of the Cambodian population is amongst the poorest in Asia.

Currently, 90% of Cambodian women suffer from long-term gynaecological and related cancer issues and most have limited access to medical care, due largely to financial barriers and a lack of resources and awareness.  These women are forced to suffer in silence until eventually they pay the ultimate price for their affliction, leaving a devastated family and undermining the strength of our society.

Nokor Tep Women's Hospital will not only provide access to proper and modern gynaecological and oncological care, but will contribute to an overall improvement in health in the country through planned Education and Preventative Units which will form an integral part of Stage 4 of the project.

Seeking a solution

The Nokor Tep Women's Hospital is an initiative launched by:

  • Mrs Ros Priboun
  • Mrs Janne Ritskes, the founder of Tabitha Cambodia
  • Dr Ing Kantha Phavi, the Cambodian Minister for Women's Affairs, and
  • Mr Trac Thai Sieng, Vice Governor of the city of Phnom Penh

It was officially registered with the Royal Cambodian Government in October 2011.

 OUR MISSION

To reach out the poor and vulnerable women of Cambodia and provide them with vital medical care.

While the hospital is at the core of this outreach, an Education and Preventive Unit will be an integral part of the project.  Staff will be trained to enable women to be screened in their communities;  mobile units will be available for screening, education and minor treatments.  More severe cases will be taken to the hospital.

The hospital will also feature a Research Unit and offer Training in all aspects of medicine and care.

Please stand with us alongside the Women of Cambodia

and help make their dreams come true
