Walk/ Run for Nokor Tep 2016

Tabitha Walk & Run in Support of Nokor Tep Women's Hospital September 10, 2016

You are invited to join us for a 5km Walk/Run in support of
Nokor Tep Women’s Hospital in Cambodia

Stand with the women of Cambodia for Just One Day and help to raise the funds to finish building the first women's hospital in Cambodia.

The World Health Organization has identified that Cambodia has poor quality of healthcare, particularly in rural and remote facilities.  Canadian Janne Ritskes, founder of Tabitha Foundation is one of the founders of the 220 bed Nokor Tep Women’s Hospital. The Nokor Tep vision is to achieve access to medical care for all Cambodian women - regardless of status or wealth.  No one will be turned away.

The 3rd and final floor was poured in May and the roof is now 70% completed.  Bricking and the interior finishing is in progress. This hospital is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2016 or early 2017, with a plan for opening in 2017.

This year, the Tabitha Run/Walk is aimed at a very specific acquisition for Nokor Tep Women's Hospital in Cambodia. The goal is to raise the funds needed to purchase an 800 KVA electrical transformer that will run all of the hospital's equipment including the operating theaters and radiation therapy equipment.

In order to purchase the transformer we have set aggressive fundraising goals totaling$75,000 combined between Ottawa, London and private events.

Show what a difference we can make for this project in Just One Day!

Walk and Run for Nokor Tep - A Success!

The First Walk/Run for Nokor Tep Women's Hospital succesfully ended with $37,000 funds raised and with lots of fun.

Thank you to all the participants and volunteers across the country who helped further the dream for the women of Cambodia.

Tee Off for Nokor Tep Women's Hospital

On 10th of June 2015, TEE OFF FOR TABITHA Annual Fundraising golf tournament was held  at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Club in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario., Canada.

The event was a great success. It raised CAD 9,000 for Nokor tep Women's Hospital.

A huge thanks to all of you.

Nokor Tep Australia Official Launch

Janne's presence in the official launch of Nokor Tep Foundation Australia gives more meaning to the event. Khmer New Year  celebrated in the Cambodian Community (April 11, 2015) and two gatherings in Melbourne(April 12, 2015) and Perth (April 17, 2015) raised awareness and funds to Nokor Tep Women's Hospital.

Gala Dinner 2014 in Singapore

November brought a “Touch of Gold” to Singapore with our 3rd Annual Gala Dinner in aid of the Nokor Tep Women's Hospital. With a ‘Touch of Gold’ as it’s theme, this stylish event took place on Friday 7 November at the Conrad Centennial Hotel, with 180 guests attending and raising approximately $60,000 towards the construction of the hospital!

Adding extra shine to the evening were the three Nokor Tep Founders, Mr Trac Thai Sieng, Vice-Governor of Phnom Penh, Dr Ing Kantha Phavi, Minister for Women's Affairs for Cambodia, and Janne Ritskes, from the Tabitha and Nokor Tep Foundation. In a very personal and moving speech by Janne's daughter Miriam, the audience was reminded of the devastating impact of a mother’s illness or loss on her children. The evening’s key message - by giving a little, we make a big difference.
