Bike Ride over 9 days for Nokor Tep Women’s Hospital.

To date, our riders have raised around USD700,000 through this initiative. The 5-storey women’s hospital, which was only bare land and the dream of a passionate crusader for the Cambodian people -  Janne Ritskes; will open its doors in late 2018 / early 2019.  Donors from across the world have contributed and to date over USD 6,000,000 has been raised to build Nokor Tep which will provide free or minimal cost care to the women of Cambodia. The vision is to have a women’s hospital that is focused on gynaecological issues and women’s cancers thereby alleviating the silent suffering of the vast majority of women in Cambodia.

In previous years the ride has traversed Cambodia on mountain bikes, starting in Siem Reap and ending at Nokor Tep Hospital in Phnom Penh. This year we are ‘upping the ante’ and riding from Bangkok, Thailand to Phnom Penh Cambodia to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh) Vietnam. 1200 km and 6634m of elevation. We will have 2 teams of riders – a faster group capable of averaging 28-32 km/hr rolling speed over distance and a moderate group capable of averaging 22-25 km/hr. We will set off in stages and meet up for lunch. There will be support crew for each team.

This is a fundraising ride. We are looking to attract cyclists who can raise funds via friends and corporate donors and we are looking for support crew (discounted rates apply for non-riders) who will ride in the bus and help the riders at each stop and direct the local support crew. Each individual rider must raise at least USD1000 or more and if couples are riding there is a fundraising minimum of USD1500 combined. Support crew do not have to raise a minimum sum but we will appreciate any donations. The rider who has raised the biggest sum for any ride for Nokor Tep raised  USD 70 000 – a tough target to reach but achievable through corporate donors and dogged determination. We will assist you in your efforts with mailers to send out, facebook and Instagram updates, images, presentation decks and templates.
The plight of Cambodian women and the Nokor Tep Hospital project.
Please click on the button below which relates most closely to your feelings or intentions about this ride and initiative and we will revert in a few days accordingly. We will then send you details of each day, where we will ride and where we will stay. People who indicate an interest in riding will receive the link to sign up later this week as well as the link to the donor page. Hotels have been selected that we have either used previously or which offer good, clean comfortable accommodation in pleasant surroundings at good value.

Our Facebook Page and Website are under reconstruction and will be up and running this week. You will be able to sign up via email or via the website.
